In an official press release, the University of Sierra Leone has issued a statement urging prospective students to avail themselves of the opportunity to apply for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses at Fourah Bay College (FBC), Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), and College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) for the academic year 2023/2024. To facilitate the application process, the university has launched an online portal, which will be accessible to applicants starting from Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
Furthermore, the University of Sierra Leone has expanded its offerings to include e-learning Master's programs in various disciplines. Interested individuals can now apply for the Master's programs in Business Administration, Journalism & Media Studies, Communication & Development Studies, and Public Relations & Marketing Communication through the online portal.
For the convenience of prospective applicants, application PINS can be obtained from designated banks in Freetown, namely Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, Commerce and Mortgage Bank PLB (CMB), Rokel Commercial Bank, and Union Trust Bank, as well as their branches in different regions. The cost of the application PINS is Le NLe400.00 for Undergraduate courses and Le NLe500.00 for Postgraduate courses.
The University of Sierra Leone recognizes several examination bodies for admissions. These include the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for GCE 'O' Level, Pearson Edexcel for GCSEs Advanced Subsidiary level, GCE Advanced level ('A' Level), West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), and IGCSE (Admitted at Diploma Level). It is important to note that Diploma and Certificate courses offered by the University of Sierra Leone are considered terminal programs. Applicants from these programs who aspire to pursue degree programs must satisfy the minimum entry requirements set by the university.
