Prominent Sierra Leonean artist Fredric Peters, widely recognized as "Famous," recently engaged in an interview with Tamba B to address the discussions surrounding his ambitious plan to organize a concert at the renowned London O2 Arena.
Famous expressed his fervent enthusiasm for this project, describing it as a cherished dream that he has diligently been preparing for over an extended period. He clarified that the O2 Arena encompasses various suitable sub-venues for hosting concerts, underlining his intention to hold his concert there in the upcoming summer, whether it takes place within the Arena itself or any of its affiliated spaces.
When asked about the criticism he has faced from fellow Sierra Leoneans regarding this bold venture, Famous displayed unwavering determination. He acknowledged that Sierra Leoneans are sometimes known for undermining their compatriots, but he remains resolute, firmly dedicated to his vision, and relentlessly working towards its realization.
Famous also disclosed an encouraging twist to his O2 Arena journey. He revealed that upon initially announcing his intention to host a concert at this prestigious venue, he received an unexpected call of support from the well-known rapper Boss La, even though Boss La was incarcerated at the time. Famous recounted that during their inspiring conversation, Boss La motivated him not only to pursue his dream but also to create a song related to this ambitious undertaking. Furthermore, he mentioned that he had made a commitment to Boss La to feature him on this song.
Famous reiterated that his focus remains steadfast on achieving his dream, notwithstanding criticism from some less patriotic Sierra Leoneans. He believes that if the concert proves to be successful, it could potentially elevate Sierra Leone's reputation, similar to Nigeria's accomplishments in the global entertainment sphere.
He views this audacious endeavour as an opportunity to challenge prevailing notions about Sierra Leone and showcase the nation's artistic and creative excellence on the worldwide stage.
